Stroke
Hi
Had a bit of excitement, so this will fill you in.

Came back from the Argentine fine on Wednesday the 9th of December, and on Saturday got up feeling fine at 10am and collapsed in a heap. My body had lost all control of my right side from my toes, all the way up, to two thirds of my face. No pain, and mental activity reduced to nodding words. Ambulance called and have been inside ever since.

General condition has improved but still have half my body inoperative – my right half hangs useless. I can understand ok but my diction in return is confused.

Phew that bit took about an hour!

Have been inside about 1 month. The diction is better, I say a few words like "You ought to see the " in a guttural but understandable way, but then hesitate for l5 seconds while I search for the word for "size", and sometimes when I find it I have forgotten what I was saying in the first place. Ok, so I know that you suffer a bit from this too!

But the main thing is the complete inertness of my whole right side, My right hand is resting on my chest and I can imagine the feel of it, and then I look and find that it is actually lying limp by my side.

But actually, slowly but inexorably, things are improving. My diction is improving, I can now string 10 words together where last week it was 6, the last line took 60 seconds to type where the first line (2 weeks ago) took 10 minutes to type. One does not know how long it will take, or where the end-point will be, so with Amber's help I have everything to try for. She is an incredible support.

So that is the news, updates to follow.

But enough about me, What about you? Tell me your latest joke.
Love, kisses, hugs, saludos, regards, whatever fits or you prefer.
Gavin
