Odds and ends

In the sixties and early seventies you couldn't get the wide choice of clothes that you can now. I wanted a suit that was unavailable, so I decided to make one. I didn't think "Ooh, what a radical and brave and feminine thing to do." In those days I just did things, and knew I could do anything. I bought a basic suit pattern, and modified it as I wanted, with a slightly waisted jacket, narrower trousers with no turn-ups, inclined jacket pocket flaps etc. I did it all properly, with inter-lining etc.
It fitted me very well, of course, but tempus fugit...
This photo was taken at Tim and Celia's wedding.
